RentBuddy is a mobile application where users can either rent or rent out an apartment. The app simplifies the rental process by handling complex documentation and guiding tenants through each step. It also calculates public transport costs between home and work, helping users make informed decisions.

We collaborated with marketing students who provided key insights into the housing challenges in Perth, Australia. Building on their research, we defined a solution to simplify the rental journey. Through brainstorming, mood boards, and wireframing in Figma, we shaped the concept of a mobile app designed to guide tenants through the rental process while offering personalized property matches.
Our focus was on creating a simple, intuitive, and stress-free experience—particularly for first-time renters. High-fidelity prototypes emphasized minimalistic design, guided application steps, clear navigation, and accessibility. To ensure usability, we relied on internal feedback and iterative refinements of navigation flow, readability, and document upload clarity. Although time constraints limited formal user testing, we followed intuitive design principles to minimize friction.

The final concept was a mobile app prototype built in Figma and partly implemented in React Native. It included personalized property recommendations, a guided rental application process, document upload functionality, and even a public transport cost calculator. My main responsibility was the UX/UI design, but I also contributed to front-end development, ensuring the designs translated smoothly into a functional product.
